MINNESOTA MEN’S GYMNASTICS IS HAVING A BUSY SUMMER!

After returning from GymACT Nationals on May 11th with the second place Team Trophy, all of our athletes were able to finish up their Final Exams by the last day of finals on May 14th. That was a wrap on a very interesting GymACT season that had many ups and downs as we navigated a not-so-ideal situation after losing the Cooke Hall training gym a little more than a year ago.

As many of you know, the Twin Cities Gymnastics Community provided the facility usage we needed in order to maintain the level of excellence we’ve come to be known for. Mini-Hops Gymnastics, North Shore Gymnastics, and Twin City Twisters Gymnastics welcomed us with open arms and without that willingness to help us out, I don’t know how this season would have turned out.

But it turned out amazing with our 4th annual Eastern Conference Championship Team Title and a Runner-Up finish at GymACT Nationals, 1 National Champion, and 9 All Americans. Not bad for a group of guys who had no home gym but were able to maintain their focus and passion to be a team to be reckoned with on the National Stage. I am so proud of every one of these guys and what they were able to endure this season. A special shoutout to all the parents who also maintained their fierce devotion to their kids and their program. I always love to see so many of our parents who support our guys in so many ways!

On Friday, June 20, 2025, we entered into a 5-year lease agreement on a space located at 655 Fairview Ave N in St. Paul that will be our new home at least until June of 2030. Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics has a new mailing address and we’ll be moving in over the course of the rest of the summer and possibly early Fall as the landlord does some construction in the space to get it ready for our needs and the needs of some of the adjacent tenants in the building, for a sneak peek of the space click here.

Special thanks to key contributors in making this deal happen. Golden Gopher Gymnastics alumnus Dave Menke lent his commercial real estate expertise during retirement to bring this project to life. Fellow alum Brian Meeker played a vital role in shaping the new Recreation and Pre-School Program, designed to generate revenue for the facility. The program, named FOUNDATION Gymnastics, reflects Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics' legacy as the cornerstone of the sport in the state.

Assisting Brian with these details were Ben & Elaina Feuer, parents of upcoming Sophomore Leo Feuer from New Jersey, who operate two gymnastics clubs in the state, as well as Gopher Alum Rob Brown, who manages three gyms in the Chicagoland area. Alex & Jaimie Gagamov, parents of soon-to-be Junior Jack Gagamov, also contributed to the facility search and regularly participate in bi-weekly Zoom calls. Jack Gagamov has contributed to gym layout designs in collaboration with John Deary of Deary Gymnastics Supply in Connecticut, while continuing his role as President of the Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics Club through the University RecWell Program. Additionally, Troy Brandt of Eleven Design Co in Minneapolis is leading the marketing and branding efforts for the club, with new initiatives expected to be announced soon.

This project has involved many moving parts, but now it's a reality. Next steps include rapidly setting up the gym, marketing the Rec Program, purchasing office furniture, implementing payment and class tracking systems, and continuing fundraising to ensure sufficient funding for this major initiative. Friends and alumni should be proud of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics’ progress. We’ll keep you updated on when we’ll open and will reach out soon for help moving equipment as we turn our new gym into a home for the program’s next chapter.
