JANUARY INTRASQUAD RECAP AND SEASON PREVIEW
The January Intrasquad at Foundation Gymnastics, held on January 10, served as our final dress rehearsal before the Windy City Invitational. The gym was filled with energy and anticipation as athletes showcased their routines, fine-tuning every detail in preparation for the upcoming competition.
Coaches and teammates provided valuable feedback throughout the event, helping each gymnast build confidence and focus. The mock meet atmosphere allowed everyone to experience the flow of competition, from warm-ups to the final salute, ensuring that we are mentally and physically ready.
“The guys looked very confident in their performances which is exactly how we want to look as we get ready to head to Chicago and get 2026 underway,” said Head Coach Mike Burns.
With the Windy City Invitational set for January 17, 2026, at Navy Pier in Chicago, the team is eager to put their hard work to the test. The intrasquad was a great opportunity to identify strengths, address last-minute adjustments, and unite as a team before heading to our first meet of the season.
KICKING OFF THE 2026 SEASON
At the Windy City Invitational this weekend, we will be showcasing two full teams on the floor as we do battle against GymACT rivals Iowa, Indy-Hio, Northern Illinois, Florida Storm, and Wisconsin. This is an exciting opportunity for our athletes to demonstrate their growth and teamwork on a big stage, and we look forward to testing ourselves against strong competition!
Junior Ben Letvin will be heading to the West Point Open at the US Military Academy in an effort to qualify to the 2026 Winter Cup. Assistant Coach Clay Strother will be traveling with Ben and we wish them great success in his quest to make it to the Winter Cup.
