EXCITING UPDATES ON THE PROGRESS OF OUR NEW GYM
Training Highlights
Our athletes have been hard at work, focusing on strength, endurance, and technique. This after spending countless hours getting our training facility prepared to continue the training needed to achieve our goals. Team members have embraced the challenges of basically building a gym from the ground up to a fully functional training facility for a high level collegiate program. They have been supporting each other and demonstrating impressive progress in every workout.
Looking Ahead
With the foundation we’re building this month, we’re confident that the team will continue moving in a very positive direction. As we prepare for upcoming competition season, we’re excited to see how our hard work in the gym translates onto the competition floor.
Thank You for Your Support!
Your encouragement makes a world of difference. Thank you for cheering us on and believing in our journey. Stay tuned for more updates as we keep striving for excellence.
MAROON AND GOLD INTRASQUAD SET FOR SATURDAY DECEMBER 6th
The annual Maroon & Gold Intrasquad will be held at Foundation Gymnastics on December 6. Action starts at 12:00 noon, so make sure to come out early and support the team as they showcase their skills and teamwork. We look forward to seeing fans, families, and friends cheering on our athletes during this spirited event!
Foundation Gymnastics is located at 655 Fairview Ave N in St Paul, MN 55104. This will be a great chance to not only watch the 2026 Team in action, but also a chance to see our new gym! So much has gone into getting this new home for the University of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics Team put together and we’re excited to show it off.
The teams have been selected and we’re looking forward to a great battle in the gym. This meet will help the coaches make some tough decisions moving forward in terms of the lineups we’ll be utilizing in our regular season meets. Because of the sheer numbers of routines to be performed, we decided to put the Pommel Horse competition on Friday, December 5th during our regularly scheduled workout time (3:00 – 6:00 pm) so if you can’t make it Saturday you’re welcome to come and watch Pommel Horse on Friday.
Speaking of which, here are some updates on locations and times for regular season meets on our schedule this year. In our last update, our local meets were listed as TBD when it came to location, but now we can report on these details:
The John Roethlisberger Iceberg Invitational will be held on Saturday night, January 31, 2026 most likely at 7:00 pm at Shakpoee High School – 100 17th Ave W, Shakopee, MN 55379
The MN GymACT Invitational will be held Saturday night, February 14, 2026 at 6:20 pm at Humboldt High School – 30 Baker St E, St Paul, MN 55107
The MIGS Program Invitational will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026 at 5:30 pm at Humboldt High School – 30 Baker St E, St Paul, MN 55107
Hope to see you at these local meets to cheer on the team!
FMMG FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN IN FULL SWING
The FMMG Board of Directors is hard at work running our Annual Fundraising Campaign again this fall. This is a major factor in the continued success and viability of the University of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics Program. Through the generous gifts of our supporters, we’ve been able to operate at a level that should make every one of you proud.
We continue to attract talented newcomers to the team through our recruiting efforts. Our new gym is a major attraction and the University of Minnesota itself is also a big attraction. Our athletes get to attend a world class institution while training with a high-level gymnastics program that provides them a wealth of opportunities to continue the sport they love.
None of this would be possible without the financial support we receive from all of you. We have been blessed with many generous donors over these past several years, but our costs continue to challenge us every year. The cost of travel to meets, the cost of uniforms, the cost of new equipment, the cost of grips, the costs of entry fees, the cost of USAG athlete memberships and certifications are just a few of the costs associated with this program. Your help is great appreciated and donations to the Friends of Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics (FMMG) are all tax-deductible. Visit our website – www.minnesotagymnastics.org – and click on the DONATE button to support our efforts. If you prefer sending a check, just make it out to FMMG and mail it to Mike Burns/FMMG, 625 Grand Ave #4, St Paul, MN 55105.

FIRST TEAM FUNDRAISER IN THE BOOKS
The team did their first equipment set up and tear down at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Friday, November 21st and Sunday November 23rd. It was the annual Turkey Tumble Meet put on by North Shore Gymnastics Association with over 1250 young girls competing. The guys did an outstanding job of setting up an entire truckload of Speith-America equipment which is equipment we’ve never set up before. It didn’t take long before the team was humming on all cylinders and the set up took 2 ½ hours from 6:00 – 8:30 pm. Tear down was slated for Sunday at 9:30 pm and the truck was fully loaded at 11:00 pm so we shaved off an hour from the set up time. Great effort by a great team!
We’re grateful for your ongoing support as we continue to grow and strengthen Minnesota Men’s Gymnastics. Keep an eye out for more updates throughout the season and be sure to follow us on social media for meet highlights, behind-the-scenes content, and ways to support the team!
