MINNESOTA HEADS TO THE NIU INVITATIONAL IN WHEATON, ILLINOIS TO TAKE ON THE TOP TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY

Minnesota travels to the 2025 NIU Invitational at the DuPage County Fairgrounds to take on top-ranked Arizona State, along with Iowa, Kansas City, Wisconsin, and host Northern Illinois.

Arizona State has been on a tear lately, scoring above 300 on multiple occasions and leapfrogging Minnesota to claim the top spot in the national rankings, which can be found on Road to Nationals: https://roadtonationals.com/results/standingsGA/. Arizona State and Minnesota are the only two teams to eclipse the 300-point mark, and it should be a real shootout at the Fairgrounds.

“We’ve had a big target on our backs since last May, when we knocked Arizona State off the top of the podium at GymACT Nationals,” stated Minnesota head coach Mike Burns. “The Sun Devils are a tough team, and we’ll need to bring out all the ammo in our arsenal this week if we want to keep our unbeaten streak alive and put the rest of the nation on notice that we are STILL a force to be reckoned with.”

Action will get underway on Saturday, March 8th, at 6:30 p.m. NIU will be live-streaming the entire meet at this link: https://www.youtube.com/live/zCpp90vDd8E. This is NIU’s YouTube channel. Minnesota will also be live-streaming on our Instagram page.

We’ll be starting on pommel horse, and we’ll have two teams on the floor.

Don’t miss the action!
