Greetings Gopher Fans!
Our first meet at the Pavilion is right around the corner as the
team vigorously trains to start off in gopher fashion --
Confident, Prepared, and Precise. The team is right on track to
being Big Ten Champions and NCAA National Qualifiers, our two
goals for this season. It will be an exciting year of powerful
vaults, new floor routines, and graceful beam and bars.
Additionally, the team’s spirits are high, even as we train
through the toughest part of the season. We are now ready and
excited to show off our skills to our fans, whom we think are
the greatest fans in the World!
After returning from a nice and short break for Thanksgiving, we
are ready to start simulation meets on Monday, Dec. 5th
followed by another on Dec. 12th. Both of these are
informal, during practice and held at Peik Gymnasium, our
practice gym, to get the feeling of competition before the short
holiday break. After Christmas it is time for action as we make
our debut in the Pavilion on Monday, Jan. 2nd, for
our team Intrasquad Meet followed by our first home competition
that Saturday (Jan. 7th) against Ohio State. Both
start at 6 p.m. so come out and cheer us to a Golden Gopher
victory!!
Remember season tickets are on sale now and are a great
opportunity to support our team and the University of Minnesota
athletics. We’d love to see everyone at all of our meets - the
more fans, the more fun it is to compete! We also hope that you
have been practicing the “Ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom” to celebrate
every single stuck routine.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and see you at the Pav!
Best Wishes, and Go GOPHERS!
